When an organic farm in Templeton offered us some of their land to plant and tend to our own garden, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. We became farmers and have learned more than we ever imagined about tomatoes, squash, lettuce, chard…and gophers. It is our responsibility as proponents of local, sustainable and organic food to understand every aspect of the process. To us, this means getting dirty and literally starting from the beginning.
